Tenant Info Added to ‘Search All Notes’

January 2012. For three years, PestaRoo has supported the ability to do global searches of the various ‘notes’. ‘Note’ fields by their very nature have a wide range of types of information in them. To find a keyword, like ‘Clothesline’, for example, would normally be nearly impossible. You would not know which of 15 or so ‘notes’ fields to search in. ‘Search All Notes’, a button at Home Page, does this for you and returns an easy to read and use list with its results. So now, ‘Tenant Info’ from Locations is added to the ‘Search All Notes’ function. Give us a call and ask for the newest update which includes this. You’ll love it!

Expanded Tenant Info

January 2012. A new year and lots of great new stuff coming to PestaRoo! Today we added a new window for Tenant Info. From a location that may include lots of tenants, there is now a button to open a new window where you can enter LOTS of tenant information! Handy. Thanks to Marcy for the excellent suggestion.

New Support Document

December 2011. For new users to PestaRoo, we’ve put up a new Support Document: Legacy Invoice Inputting. This documents shows the fastest way to enter legacy invoices into PestaRoo. And it is easy and straight forward. It does use some new functions, so be sure that your copy of PestaRoo is fully up to date!

Improved Back and Forward Buttons

Extra Charge Field for Invoices

December 2011. Sometimes you will need to add on an extra charge (or discount) to an invoice. Now you can! We have added a special field ‘Extra Charge’ with a customizable label to Invoice Data Entry. So quick and so easy! These new fields are also on Invoice List. It is ideal for late fees or special surcharges or discount.

Admin Access Logging

December 2011. PestaRoo has two restricted areas, Managers and Producers, that allow a higher level of access for modifying and deleting records. For example, you would go to Managers Access when you need to change a posted payment or invoice, or to view confidential sales data. These two special areas are protected by passwords. Now PestaRoo permanently log every attempt (successful or not) into there restricted areas. Should your ‘Manager’ or ‘Producer’ password be compromised, you will know the who, when, and where that access was breached. You will also know of every attempt to gain access into the restricted areas.

Rapid Returns to Previous Office Work

November 2011. We all get interrupted by phone calls, forcing us to stop what we are doing to attend to a customer need. Afterwards, we have to try to return to whatever we were doing before the phone rang. But, what were we doing? PestaRoo has several neat features that help you quickly get back to whatever you were doing when interrupted. Here is one of those techniques: At the upper left of almost every screen is a drop-down list of the major layouts in PestaRoo. So, if you were working on a Payment, select ‘Payment Data Entry’, and PestaRoo will instantly take back to the exact last payment you were working on! Or if you were posting invoices, select ‘Invoice Data Entry’ from the list to return to the last set of invoices you were working on. For every area of work in the software, PestaRoo keeps track of your last found set AND the exact record you were working on! Wow. This one feature in PestaRoo is probably the most-used and most-loved capability of PestaRoo among the power users.

Expanded Contact Numbers

November 2011. Contact ‘Numbers’ have historically referred only to phones and FAX machines. But the world of contacts has changed, such that now email is used as often as phones. PestaRoo, of course, accepts and auto formats email addresses in the customer’s contacts portal. An instant ‘Email Button’ will also appear to allow you to quickly start an email with one click. With the rise of social media, ‘Facebook’ , ‘Twitter’ feeds , and Websites are becoming important means of contact. Accordingly, PestaRoo now supports and auto formats these types of contacts also. These web-based contact will convert to blue text.
